‘Bring It On’ comes to Riverhead stage

Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre will present its youth musical, “Bring It On,” this week at Riverhead High School.

Show times are set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13, 14 and 15, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.

The show, with music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is based on the 2000 movie written by Jessica Bendinger and starring Kirsten Dunst. The show is directed by Laura Nitti and produced by Gretchen Chapman and Judy Schiavone.

“This is our seventh year and one of the biggest shows we have done,” Ms. Nitti said. “The amount of music and dancing that is required of the cast for this show is the most challenging that we have ever faced. These kids have handled it like pros.”

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, available at brownpapertickets.com or at the door.
