Football: SWR-Mount Sinai final rescheduled

Tonight’s scheduled Suffolk County Division IV football final between No. 2 seed Shoreham-Wading River (9-1) and No. 1 Mount Sinai (10-0) has been rescheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. Section XI said it rescheduled the game as a safety precaution, with a mix of rain and snow forecast for later today.

The Wildcats are vying for another county title after winning three consecutive from 2014-16.

Mount Sinai is making its first appearance in the county championship since 2012, when the Mustangs lost to Babylon. The Mustangs’ last county title came in 2006.

The Mustangs handed Shoreham its only loss this season, 14-7. It was the first victory for Mount Sinai against Shoreham since the playoffs in 2012.
