Southampton Blotter: Woman arrested for driving without a license

Lindsey Ackerson, 27, of Moriches was arrested in Flanders Monday evening for driving without a license, police said.

Reports said Ms. Ackerson was stopped at the intersection of Flanders Road and Cypress Ave for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, police found she had a revoked state driver’s license for 11 suspensions on five dates for failure to answer summonses.

Ms. Ackerson was arrested and charged with two violations, operating a motor vehicle without a license and driving while using a portable electronic device, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree with two or more open suspensions on three or more separate dates, a misdemeanor.

• Police are investigating a report of an unknown suspect entering a Northampton home between 7:20 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. last Tuesday and stealing over $250 in goods, reports said.

An unknown suspect allegedly broke into a home on Wildwood Trail when the homeowner was away. It’s unclear how the suspect entered the home. Reports said the individual stole gold earrings, a necklace and a camera worth $50.

The suspect would be charged with burglary in the third degree, a class D felony.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
