Jay ‘Lonnie’ Hulse III

Jay “Lonnie” Hulse III of Wading River died suddenly March 5. He was 54.

He was born March 1, 1965, to Jay and Tessie (Zubina) Hulse and grew up on the family farm on Hulse Landing Road in Wading River.

Lonnie graduated from Bishop McGann-Mercy High School in 1983 where he played on the football team for four years. He then went on to own and operate his own trucking business.

He met his wife, Lorraine, at Riverhead Raceway in 1993. They married March 1, 1994, and went on to celebrate 25 wonderful years of sharing his birthday with their anniversary. He was a loving father to Eric and Jacquelyn.

Lonnie was a loving father, husband, son and friend, known for his friendly, easygoing demeanor, his quick wit and his selflessness. He was the best husband, father, brother and son who loved his entire family very dearly.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother, Tessie. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children Eric and Jacquelyn; his best four-legged friend, Bandit; his father, Jay; and sisters Pam, Debbie, Pattie and their families.
