Daniel De Francisco

Daniel De Francisco of Riverhead died March 24 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 94.He was born in Brooklyn June 28, 1924, to Felicia and Louis De Francisco.

Mr. De Francisco served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 and made a career as a tailor in New York City. He married Evelyn Miller in Brooklyn Feb. 19, 1955.

He was a member of Riverhead Veterans of Foreign Wars, a president of Riverhead Seniors and Golden Circle and a bingo caller, and attended St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, where he served as an usher for 33 years.

Mr. De Francisco is survived by his wife; his sister, Gloria Rye of Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitors will be received Tuesday, March 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.

A funeral Mass will take place at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. John the Evangelist, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the church.
