Peter A. Tollner

Peter A. Tollner of Flanders died March 29 at East End Hospice Kanas Center for Hospice Care. He was 67.He was born Oct. 7, 1951, to Helen and Vincent Tollner in Smithtown.

Mr. Tollner graduated from Smithtown High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He made a career as a real estate broker with Bagshaw Real Estate, was a member of Riverhead Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts. His family said he was a perpetual “tinkerer” who enjoyed cooking with his wife, Kanueng, and grandchildren.

Mr. Tollner was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife; his children, Peter (Randi), of Kingston, N.Y., Michelle (Dirk) Effertz of West Babylon and William (Ashley), of California; his sisters, Patricia and Darlene; and his grandchildren, Aden, Paxton, Harley and Zoe.

A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead assisted the family.
