Arthur J. Breen

Arthur J. Breen of Riverhead died at Peconic Bay Medical Center Jan. 1. He was 85.

He was born Feb. 4, 1934, to Anastasia and Arthur Breen in Brooklyn.

Mr. Breen graduated from high school and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1960.

He made a career as a telephone technician with Verizon in Great Neck.

Mr. Breen was a member of Verizon New Vision Pioneers, Floral Park Exempt Fire Department and Riverhead Exempt Fire Department.

He was the beloved husband of Helga (Dammer), cherished father to Arthur (Jennifer) and Eric (Teresa); and adored grandfather to Annie, Klara, Evan and Merideth.

Visitors were received Jan. 4 at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be held the following Friday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
