Larry E. Holeman

Riverhead resident Larry E. Holeman died Sept. 25, 2020, at the age of 78.

Born Jan. 5, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., Larry was the son of Ray and Mary (Green) Holeman. He graduated from Biola University in La Mirada, Calif. He married Joan Steinhoff on Feb. 14, 1970, in Riverhead. He worked as a computer programmer for Long Island University.

Larry was a member of Westhampton Community Church. He traveled with the Glorification Singers as their sound man. He found enjoyment from canoe trips down the Delaware River. A golf lover, he also liked to collect golf balls.

Larry loved people and his Lord Jesus. To him there were no strangers, only friends he hadn’t met yet.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Robert (Tannith); his sister, Shirley Fryer of Kentucky; sisters-in-law Joyce Holeman of Kentucky and Diane Steinhoff of South Carolina; his granddaughter, Alexis; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors Monday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, with a funeral service at 8 p.m. Closing prayers will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Riverhead Cemetery.
