Virginia Dickerson

Virginia Dickerson, a lifelong resident of the North Fork, passed away at home in Mattituck Sunday, June 1, 2025. She was 95 years old.

Virginia was born May 4, 1930, in Greenport to Amelia (Hinkleman) and Hans A. Hansen. She was one of eight children. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greenport.

Predeceased by her husband, Earle O. Dickerson; her siblings: Alfred Melvin, Johannus Melvin, Arthur Melvin, Frederick Hansen, Daniel Hansen, Alberta Bonkoski and Maren Erickson; she is survived by her children: Rhoda (Robert) Marchica of Mattituck; Ginna (John) Hogan of Calverton; Hans Dickerson (Lillian) of Hilton Head, S.C.; and Michele Hale of Mattituck. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dara, Alissa, Daniel and Amanda; her great-grandchild, Payton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Interment will take place at Arshamomaque Cemetery in Greenport in a private family ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mattituck Fire Department Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 136, Mattituck, NY 11952, would be appreciated.
