Frances A. Brady

Frances A. Brady, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, nurse, dog lover, and friend, passed away on Aug. 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and countless lives touched throughout her 75 years.
Fran was the devoted wife of Jack J. Brady, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Coleen Brady Winick, Christopher Brady, and Courtney Brady Craddock, and a cherished grandmother to Andrew Winick and Jack Winick. She was also a beloved mother-in-law to Paul Winick and Ted Craddock, and sister to John Lawlor.
Fran dedicated most of her career to caring for others as a nurse and later as a nurse practitioner. She spent many years working in emergency rooms throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, where her compassion, strength, and dedication made a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients and their families. Her commitment to helping others continued throughout her career and was a true reflection of the person she was.
Fran’s greatest joy was her family, along with the many friends and colleagues who became such an important part of her life. She had a way of making people feel cared for, valued, and loved. She was also a lifelong dog lover and had a special place in her heart for animals. Her love for dogs was just another reflection of her gentle, caring nature.
For many years, Fran was an avid runner, embracing both the challenge and joy that running brought to her life. She enjoyed being active and the friendships and memories that came with it.
Fran left her mark on so many people throughout the many years of her life. She was deeply loved by her family, cherished by her friends, respected by her colleagues, and remembered by the countless people whose lives she touched through her work, her kindness, and her generosity.
Her greatest legacy will always be the love she gave so freely to the people around her. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
The family will receive visitors Monday, Aug. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
