Janet Roberston Stowe

Janet Roberston Stowe passed away suddenly in Pasadena, Md. on Sept. 22, 2026. 

Janet was the daughter of Ceridwen and Edmund Robertson of Riverhead. Jan, as she was known by family and friends, was a graduate of Riverhead High School and Westminster College (Pa.) where she was a proud member of Phi Mu sorority. Jan taught early elementary school in Anne Arundel County, Md., spending her entire career at Belle Grove Elementary.  She had the pleasure of teaching the children of some of her first students and after retirement, reconnected with former ones.

Jan was an avid animal lover; taking pleasure in feeding all the wildlife that came into her vast yard. Over the years  she welcomed many shelter dogs into her home as companions. 

Jan  is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Monroe Stowe and her parents. She is survived by her sister Ellen Lutz (Arthur); their daughter Allison; and many extended family members. 

As  per her wishes, there will be no services.  Private interment will be in Maryland at a date to be determined.
