Leonard T. Rempe

Leonard T. Rempe of Calverton died at Peconic Bay Medical Center Sept. 28, 2026. He was 79.

Born in Greenport May 29, 1947, he was the son of Vincent and Alice (Kulesa) Rempe. He graduated Riverhead High School in 1966, was married to Barbara (Duffield) Rempe and had a career as a self-employed plumber.

Family said he was a past member of the Lions Club and Flanders Men’s Club, who enjoyed spending time with his family, boating and camping.

Mr. Rempe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; his children Lenny Jr., Kevin (Laura), Jessica Stark (John) and Chris (Eva); and six grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are requested for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
