Riverhead High School celebrates homecoming with parade, pep and spirit

Homecoming spirit filled the streets of Riverhead on a perfect fall Saturday.

Student-made floats, the pep band and cheering families followed a parade from East Avenue and East Main Street to Coach Mike McKillop Memorial Field, behind Pulaski Street Intermediate School.

Riverhead’s varsity cheerleaders and kickline kept the energy high during halftime as the winless Blue Waves took on Patchogue-Medford.

It was a tough finish to an otherwise joyous afternoon as Riverhead lost 45-13, falling to 0-4.
