Gavyn Avery Drago

Gavyn Avery Drago of Mattituck died suddenly Sept. 4, 2026, at the age of 17.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes, 13805 Main Road (NY-25), Mattituck, New York 11952. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. at the North Fork Reform Synagogue, 27245 Main Road (NY-25), Cutchogue, New York 11935. Rabbi David Levy will officiate. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery, 30535 Main Road (NY-25), Cutchogue, New York 11935.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Epilepsy Foundation (www.epilepsy.com) or the Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York (www.efmny.org).

Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
