Edna Slavonik

Edna Slavonik, 86, lifelong Aquebogue resident, died April 30, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Aquebogue on November 14, 1925, to Emil and Helena (Stakey) Breitenbach. Edna was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue and a caregiver to many.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, and three daughters, Cheryl Rosset and her husband, Gary, Nancy Keller and Terri Slavonik; and four grandchildren, Heather and Adam Rosset and Linda and Daniel Keller. She is also survived by her brother, Emil Breitenbach, and sister, Elsie Harrison.

Visitation and vigil prayer will be conducted Wednesday, May 2, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Charles R. Byer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sound Avenue Cemetery in Aquebogue.
