Vivian Scarano

Vivian Scarano of Riverhead died Aug. 24 in Southampton. She was 91.

Born April 20, 1921, in New York City to Maria (Cetana) and Gennaro Boggia, she worked as an assembler at Selchow & Righter, a 19th-century Bay Shore game manufacturer best known for Parcheesi and Scrabble.

Predeceased by her husband, John Scarano, in 1974, she is survived by her daughter, Angela Borsella of Riverhead, and her son, Richard Scarano of Middle Island; her grandsons, Christopher and Richard Jr.; and her granddaughter, Melissa.

Visiting hours took place Aug. 28 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, followed by interment at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale.
