Deloris Jackson

Deloris Jackson of Riverhead died Aug. 25 at Southampton Hospital. She was 67.

She was born Feb. 26, 1945, to Laura Alexander and moved to New York in 1969 from Elizabeth City, N.C.

She worked at various jobs throughout her life, family members said, but was happiest working with children. She enjoyed yard sales and singing with soul singers, they said, and was an active member of Riverhead Church of Christ.

Ms. Jackson is survived by her daughter, Juanita Alexander of Manchester, Conn.; her brother, William Wiggins of Reston, Va.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A service took place Sept. 1 at Riverhead Church of Christ, Jerry Hill officiating. Interment was at Washington Memorial Park in Coram, Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead.
