Officials are considering zoning changes in downtown Riverhead that will reduce the maximum height allowed for buildings.
The proposal, still in draft stage, comes in light of a recent rush of five-story buildings in the downtown area, something allowed by zoning the town adopted in the 2003 master plan update. (more…)
By mid-day Wednesday, the mobile home formerly at 40 Pine St. in Riverside was diminished to a pile of debris where the building once stood.
There are plenty of beautiful homes and scenic landscapes in Riverhead Town. Farm fields provide expansive sunrise and sunset views, while the entire downtown area is in fact listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
