Riverview Lofts did not get the 30-year partial property tax abatement it originally requested from the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency to build a mixed use 116-unit apartment building downtown.
Riverview Lofts, the five-story, 116-unit, mixed-use apartment complex planned for the southwest corner of East Main Street and McDermott Avenue in downtown Riverhead, was granted final site plan approval Wednesday in a split vote of the Riverhead Town Board.
In a split vote, the Riverhead Town Board approved both the site plan and the special permit application for Georgica Green Ventures’ proposed 116-unit mixed-use apartment complex Tuesday night. The board also approved an environmental study submitted by the applicant and stated that the project will have “no significant adverse environmental impacts.” READ
The developer of a 114,090-square-foot Marriott Residence Inn under construction on the west end of Route 58 across from Tanger Outlet Center is expecting the cost of the project to increase from $26,849,775 to $32,681,960, in part because of plans to install a new traffic signal on the western end of the property that will allow cars leaving the hotel property to turn east.
