Officials to discuss Wading River preservation efforts Thursday
Local officials will hold a press conference Thursday to announce efforts to preserve land slated for development in Wading River.
Developer John Zoumas has proposed stores and a restaurant for a vacant parcel of land located adjacent to CVS on Route 25A in Wading River.
Residents have opposed the plan, saying more development will impede on their quality of life.
Suffolk County Legislator Ed Romaine, Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter and Pine Barrens Society Executive Director Richard Amper are expected to attend the press conference on the Zoumas property at 3 p.m.Thursday.
