Spirit Week at Riverhead High School culminated with a pep rally and party Friday in the school gymnasium, where there was singing, dancing, and of course plenty of cheering as the Blue Waves gear up for homecoming.

(See photos and video below.)

The week, which runs for six school days, precedes Saturday’s homecoming parade on Main Street and football game against Newfield at the high school.

The theme for this year’s parade is Pixar animated films, with each class float being inspired by a different Pixar film.

The floats will be assembled at the municipal parking lot behind the the old Woolworth’s  building, on the north side of East Main Street, beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The parade down Main Street and to the football field will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Kickoff against Newfield is at 2 p.m.
