Town Board to discuss pedestrian bridge over river

liveblog

The Riverhead Town Board is scheduled to discuss a proposal to build a pedestrian bridge over the Peconic River, connecting downtown Riverhead to a county park in Riverside, at its work session on Thursday.

The project is a joint venture between Riverhead and Southampton town. Southampton Town received about $80,000 from the state to design the bridge last year, and this year is seeking proposals to do the design work, in hopes of getting additional state money to construct the bridge.

The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging it. Click below to follow or comment, and see the full meeting agenda below that.
