The Riverhead Town Board discussed Nile Rodgers Productions’s proposed two day “Freak Out Let’s Dance” music festival on Martha Clara on Aug. 4 and 5 at its work session Thursday and vowed to quickly approve the needed permits.

The festival was cancelled last year because there wasn’t enough time to plan it. Peter Herman of Nile Rodgers Productions said he couldn’t yet disclose what performers will be at the festival, or which local charities or non-profits will benefit from it.

The board also discussed Matthew Demar and John Cestare’s plans to put a Sonoma Grill restaurant in the former site of The Riverhead Project in downtown Riverhead.
