Mill Road reopens after county bus runs up onto grass

Riverhead Police announced Tuesday night that Mill Road has been reopened after a Suffolk County Transit bus ran off the road and up onto the grass berm.

The road was closed Tuesday afternoon from Industrial Boulevard to Old Country Road, and a metal utility box at the intersection of Route 58 and Mill Road came off the pole and was lying on the ground. The traffic signal at the intersection was not working.

There were three passengers on the bus at the time of the accident, according to police, and there were no reported injuries or other vehicle damage.
