Splish Splash to honor local heroes with annual appreciation week

As a big thank you for their commitment to service, local heroes will get to trade in their uniforms for swimsuits during Splish Splash’s annual appreciation week.

Police officers, firefighters, first responders, healthcare professionals, active duty or retired military members and veterans are all invited to take advantage of exclusive admission discounts during Hero Appreciation Week at the Calverton water park, which begins on Monday, Aug. 17 and ends Friday, Aug. 21.

Throughout the week, local heroes get up to $30 in savings on standard gate pricing with discounted one-day tickets for $44.99 each for themselves and up to five additional guests. These Hero Appreciation Week tickets go on sale on Monday in-person at the Splish Splash Main Gate and on www.splishsplash.com. An ID is required at the park’s entrance to redeem the discount.

As part of the week-long festivities, several local Riverhead organizations will participate in Splish Splash’s annual Touch-a-Truck Day on Tuesday, Aug. 18. This includes an on-site behind-the-scenes look from the Riverhead Police Department, Riverhead Fire Department, Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance and 106 Rescue Wing New York Air National Guard at life is as a first responder.

Guests can sit in a fire truck, check out a patrol car, grab fun photos and interact with these local heroes to learn more about working in these important public safety positions. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“Our local heroes spend all year looking out for everyone else, so Hero Appreciation Week is our chance to put them first and give them a well-deserved day of fun and relaxation,” said Mike Bengtson, Splish Splash’s general manager. “We are proud to open our gates for the brave individuals who keep Long Island safe, healthy, and strong.”

In addition to the appreciation week, Splish Splash is running a Season Pass deal where guests can save up to $50 on 2027 season passes, which include access to the park for the rest of the 2026 season and for the entirety of 2027. The park’s newest electric event, Neon Nights, happens on Fridays and Saturdays, through Aug. 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Gold and Platinum pass holders can enter Neon Nights for free with a Season Pass and get free parking.
