Photos: Riverhead and Shoreham-Wading River faculty welcome students back to school

Everyone was all smiles and ready to get the 2026-27 school year started at Riverhead and Shoreham-Wading River school districts last week.

From kindergarteners just starting their academic journeys to seniors taking in their last first day, students were all a buzz stepping off the school bus and into classrooms across the two local school districts on Sept. 3.

Returning students of Riverhead and Shoreham-Wading River were also welcomed by new teachers and administrators, freshly completed building upgrades and several larger projects still underway.
