NEWS UPDATE: Another arrest in jewel heist at councilwoman’s home

Riverhead Police have made a third arrest in connection with the theft of over $25,000 worth of jewelry and other goods from Town Board Member Jodi Giglio’s home in February.
Jason Scott, 22, of Baiting Hollow was charged at town police headquarters Thursday with second-degree burglary, authorities said.
Police said he and 17-year-old Sage Hervan, also of Baiting Hollow, broke into Ms. Giglio’s home and swiped the items while the Giglio family was on vacation.
Ms. Hervan was charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny last week after the councilwoman’s husband, Mike, allegedly threatened the girl while he was holding a baseball bat. Mr. Giglio was charged with second-degree menacing.
Police also arrested Brian Deboer, 18, of Baiting Hollow on a petit larceny charge. He’s accused of stealing loose change and a bottle of rum during a separate incident that also allegedly involved Ms. Hervan.
