Blotter: Three arrested for alleged criminal obstruction of breathing
Riverhead Town police made the following arrests from Aug. 23 to Aug. 29:
Jessica Roberts Ruc of Hampton Bays, 44, was arrested for alleged burglary.
Jaason Hartmann of Riverhead, 30, was arrested for alleged strangulation and criminal obstruction of breathing, a charge involving intentionally restricting another person’s breathing or blood circulation.
Steven Willis, 35, and Nicolas Juan Francisco, 22, both of Riverhead, were arrested on the same alleged obstruction-of-breathing charge.
Ovidio Cumez Pos of Riverhead, 31; Carl Defoe of Riverhead, 55; and Luis Chicojay Sicajau of Riverhead, 26, were arrested for alleged driving while intoxicated. John Sharko of Rye, N.Y., 55, was arrested for alleged aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Thomas Bourdette of Riverhead, 34, was arrested for alleged criminal possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
John Giannas of Queens, 43; Ayana Mendez of Hauppauge, 21; Ramona Turner of Far Rockaway, 36; and Tad Williams of Kingston, Jamaica, 49, were arrested for alleged petit larceny. Ms. Mendez was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Robert Blackmore of Riverhead, 58, was arrested for alleged criminal trespass, and Steven Jones of Riverhead, 42, was arrested for alleged trespass.
Margaret Fernendez of Wading River, 65, was arrested for alleged harassment.
Kari Reid of Riverhead, 45, was arrested for alleged exposure of a person.
Jose Guillen, 30, listed as being from El Salvador, was arrested for alleged obstructing governmental administration.
Jose Zurado Xuya of Riverhead, 33; Kristen Merone of Rocky Point, 45; and Jamal Langhorne, 40, listed as undomiciled, were arrested on arrest warrants. Tyrese McRae of Middle Island, 27; Christian Baltaian of Moriches, 44; and Olimpio Colon, 55, listed as undomiciled, were arrested on bench warrants.
Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
