Town Board to hold hearings on solar panels, drop-off bins
The Riverhead Town Board is scheduled to hold public hearings this afternoon on proposals to limit where solar panel farms and clothing drop-off bins can be located.
The board is proposing to limit solar panels that sell energy to LIPA to industrial zones, and to limit clothing drop-off bins to non-profit companies.
Also on the agenda Tuesday is a public hearing on the proposed expansion of R&K Precision Autoworks on Sound Avenue and a resolution to set a Sept. 16 hearing on North Fork Coffee Company’s proposal to convert the former Go Solar building on Main Road into a coffee shop.
The meeting starts at 2 p.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below to follow or comment, and see the full meeting agenda and resolution packet below that.
