The Riverhead Parent-Teacher Organization executive council hosted its 4th annual Crazy Sports Night at the high school gym Friday night.
The bleachers were packed for the popular event and staff from all schools within the district, as well as the administration, took part in several crazy sports including a hula hoop pass, newspaper races, a basketball three-point shoot-around and more.
As a special treat, the Riverhead Blue Masques performed a song and dance from their upcoming musical Footloose which opens on Saturday, March 21.
Proceeds from the event benefit Riverhead students and a special raffle was held to raise money for the Krueger Family, whose home was seriously damaged in a fire six weeks ago.
The final standings were as follows:
1st place: Riverhead High School – 27 points
2nd place: Riverhead Middle School and Aquebogue School – 24 points
3rd place: District Office – 19 points
4th place: Pulaski Street School – 18 points
