A 25-year-old Riverhead man was arrested early Sunday morning after he was caught in possession of an opioid treatment drug without a prescription, Southampton Town police said.

Tomasz Zalewski was found on Peconic Avenue in Riverside shortly after 2 a.m. with Suboxone outside of its original packaging, police said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and released on an appearance ticket, police said.

Mr. Zalewski was arrested on drug possession charges earlier this month after he was found on Newton Avenue April 15 with heroin and crack cocaine hidden in the waist of his clothing, Riverhead Town Police said.
