Preview: SWR school board to discuss potential bond

The Shoreham-Wading River school board will begin discussions over a proposed $48.6 million district bond to make repairs and upgrades to district facilities.

As it stands, the bond would fund construction work, new classroom space and roof repairs among other additions at all four district schools. The proposal was presented to the board by the district’s bond committee at its last meeting Sept. 9.

“There’s still a lot of holes that need to be made whole,” board president William McGrath said at the time.

The board will discuss how much, if any, of the proposal to adopt for a referendum vote that would come this December.
