Meghan Carver, an 11-year-old Riverhead resident, recently participated in the equestrian show at Salt River Farms. She was awarded champion of her division, winning two first places and two second places. Congratulations, Meghan, with lots of love from your grandmother Terry and grandfather Harry Carver. Your family is truly proud of your accomplishment.

The first senior art show, “Hidden Talents,” will be held at Riverhead Free Library Nov. 5-30. It will feature art by local seniors who reside at Riverhead Care Center, Peconic Bay Medical Center’s Skilled Nursing Facility and Westhampton Care Center. The event is being sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the senior outreach services department.

Family Day at Riverhead Care Center was celebrated recently, with Caribbean music by the Next Level Steel Band. The event included grass skirts, food, a petting zoo and pony rides. The residents were in awe when Riverhead aquarium employees visited with a touch tank filled with starfish, clams, oysters and other sea creatures. Fun was had by all!
