Former Riverhead High School star running back Miguel Maysonet joined the Buffalo Bills practice squad, his first opportunity back in the NFL since training camp in 2014.

The Bills announced the signing of Maysonet on Friday.

The Bills are the eighth NFL team Maysonet has signed with and he’s still looking for his first breakthrough to a team’s active roster.

Maysonet, 25, hoped to be drafted in 2013 after a stellar career at Stony Brook University. He went undrafted and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles the same day as the draft. He spent the most time with the Cleveland Browns in 2013, playing in all four preseason games. He was part of the team’s final cuts when the rosters were trimmed from 75 to 53 players.

His journey through the NFL brought him to Indianapolis, San Diego, New York (Jets), Washington and Pittsburgh.

In 2014 Maysonet had four touches in a preseason game for the Steelers against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. He was cut shortly afterward and did not pick up with another team last season.

The Bills currently have four running backs on their active roster.
