Wading River Subway again robbed at knifepoint: police

Riverhead Town police are searching for a man they say robbed the Subway location in Wading River at knifepoint Monday night. It marked the second such robbery at the store in the past week. 

The suspect entered the Route 25A store shortly before 9 p.m., displayed a knife and demanded cash, police said. He then fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the suspect as an approximately 6-foot-tall white male wearing a dark-colored hooded jack, dark pants, sunglasses and gloves.

A police K9 unit was unable to locate the suspect, police said.

A similar incident with a suspect matching a similar description occurred around the same time last Wednesday, according to a prior police press release.
