Four PGA golfers play round at Friar’s Head in Baiting Hollow
Now that’s quite the foursome.
Four PGA golfers — including two ranked top-10 in the world — played a round of golf at Friar’s Head Golf Course in Baiting Hollow Monday. Smylie Kaufman, a 24-year-old from Alabama who made a name for himself at the 2016 Masters, posted a photo on Instagram Monday night of the group that included Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
“Fun day of golf with the boys out at Friar’s Head,” Kaufman wrote in the post.
“Legendary day boys!!” Fowler responded with a comment.
Spieth, 23, is currently ranked third in the world and was the winner of the 2015 Masters. Fowler, 27, is ranked eighth in the world. Thomas, 23, is ranked 33rd in the world.
The exclusive Friar’s Head course, discreetly tucked away off Sound Avenue with nary a sign out front, is a world renowned course that opened in 2002. Last year the golf course hosted the Metropolitan Golf Association’s major amateur championship.
Many of the world’s top golfers were on Long Island this week for The Barclays, which was played at Bethpage State Park. Fowler finished in a tie for seventh and Thomas and Spieth were both tied for 10th.
