North Fork nature and art highlighted in the Bird Song Project

North Fork Audubon Society’s Bird Song Project is back for a third year.

On July 18 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Audubon Society in collaboration with East End Arts & Humanities Council (206 Griffing Ave., Riverhead) will host an opening reception for this year’s rendition of the event. Bird Song Project: A Sculpture Trail, featuring established and emerging artists showing art inspired by birds, wildlife and the natural world, will be situated along the trail in Inlet Pond County Park (65275 Route 48, Greenport).

Orange glass sculptures resembling flames are scattered amongst greenery and rocks.

Expect opening remarks, live music and refreshments from North Fork Roasting Co. and Pips Café and Provisions as the two non-profits kick off the seasonal promotion of nature through art.

The outdoor exhibition is made possible by a grant from Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning cultural grant program.
