TangerKids Grants Program now accepting applications from local educators seeking funds

Tanger Outlets is looking to continue its 30-year tradition of helping local teachers with some extra funds as they prepare for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The application period for the annual TangerKids Grant Program opens on Monday, Aug. 17 and closes Sunday, Oct. 18.

Tanger’s grant program gives teachers and education leaders the opportunity to identify classroom needs and request funding to enhance programs and better serve their students.

Since 1996, Tanger, with locations on Long Island in Riverhead and Deer Park, has invested nearly $4 million in grants to schools and educational programs across the communities it serves through 38 outlet centers and four open-air lifestyle centers.

Last year, nearly $200,000 in grants were awarded to initiatives throughout the U.S, and Canada, with a focus on boosting inclusive classroom environments, underserved schools and programs that address ever-changing student needs.

These grants can be used for similar initiatives that improve learning environments, enhance accessibility, address students needs and provide additional resources for schools and classrooms.

Faculty members at public and private schools serving pre-K through 12th grade are eligible to apply at grants.tanger.com.

Applications will be reviewed from Oct. 19 through Nov. 20. Winners are notified and announced in December, just in the time for the holidays.

The 2026 grant winners in each community will be announced and celebrated at the TangerKids Day in January 2027.
