Wading River School students, staff bring history to life for Constitution Day
When the bell rang Thursday morning, Wading River School students weren’t just walking to class; they were traveling through history.
In celebration of Constitution Day, kids and staff stepped into the shoes of the people and symbols who helped shape, form, or make an impact on the country.
The halls were filled with familiar faces, including Teddy Roosevelt, Betsy Ross, George Washington, the Statue of Liberty and Rosie the Riveter. Principal Louis Parrinello joined in the celebration, dressing as Abraham Lincoln.
Others wore red, white and blue, creating a patriotic atmosphere throughout the school.
Students were given the opportunity to also write about the person or character they dressed as and share what they learned with their classmates.
