The Riverhead Rotary Club served up more than 400 meals Sunday at its annual pancake breakfast at Polish Hall, according to the club.

Riverhead High School NJROTC cadets pitched in alongside Rotary members to help dish out a menu that included pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and bagels.

The funds raised will support the club’s local community projects. Its work includes holiday food baskets and a scholarship program that awarded a record $145,000 to local students this year.

The rotary club also recently dedicated a seven-foot peace pole along River Walk in memory of Mary Ellen Ellwood, a longtime member and past president. The pole carries the message “May peace prevail on Earth” in English, Spanish, Polish and Ukrainian.
