Northforker Wine & Food Classic partner spotlight: La Plage
Chef Wayne Wadington has been serving guests for nearly 30 years at La Plage, his beachfront gem of a restaurant on Long Island Sound in Wading River (131 Creek Road, Wading River, 631-744-9200). The French American, seafood-heavy cuisine has been described in the New York Times as “exciting, appealing and delicious,” and is created with fresh fish and locally sourced produce delivered daily.
Standout service is on the menu here as well, and La Plage has a deserved reputation as one of the most romantic restaurants on the Island.

Appetizers include sweet corn soup with jumbo lump crab, escargot with garlic and parsley, and burrata and grilled peaches served with sourdough bread and prosciutto. Mains include house-made pastas, duck leg confit, pan-seared fluke with red crab fried rice, and a black angus filet mignon with wild mushrooms and a Yukon gold potato puree.
The beer and wine menu is laden with local names like Bedell Cellars, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, Macari Vineyards, North Fork Brewing Company and Paumanok Vineyards.
We’re happy to welcome La Plage to this year’s Northforker Wine & Food Classic on Sept. 3 at Borghese Vineyard (17150 Sound Ave., Cutchogue, 631-734-5111).
