Cops: She was getaway driver in burglaries

A Wading River woman was arrested last week for her alleged role in a string of residential burglaries in Bell Terre and Farmingville, Suffolk County police said.

Alexa Vitacco, 21, was an accomplice in four burglaries, serving as the getaway driver in three of the burglaries, police said. In the fourth burglary, Ms. Vitacco allegedly kicked in a rear door and stole jewelry from a Farmingville home, police said.

When she was arrested last Thursday, police said they found she was carrying heroin.

Ms. Vitacco was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
