Section of Route 25 closed in Riverhead after utility pole fire
A small stretch of Route 25 was closed about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, from County Road 105 east to Broad Avenue after a utility pole fire.
Police were waiting for LIPA crews to arrived as of 5:30 p.m.
No fire was seen sparking at that time.
The road was still shut as of 6:30 p.m. Westbound traffic was being diverted south along Broad Avenue.
As of later Tuesday night LIPA was reporting no power outages to area customers.
