Girls Lacrosse: SWR rolls to third straight win

Shoreham-Wading River struck for five goals in the opening five minutes and rolled to a 10-0 advantage en route to an 17-7 win over visiting Bellport  in a Suffolk County Division II girls lacrosse game Saturday afternoon. 

Freshman Manuela Cortes and sophomore Sophia Triandafils scored four goals apiece and senior captain Shannon Rosati also had a hat-trick and added three assists.

Six different players found the back of the net in as many times before the Wildcats (5-5, 5-5) had a player scoring her second goal of the encounter. Bellport fell to 5-5 and 3-5.

The Wildcats won their third straight game for their longest winning streak of the year.

Junior Lauren Daly was strong in goal, making seven saves.

The game the first game of a doubleheader of Lax-Out Cancer Day at Shoreham-Wading High School. The boys defeated Mount Sinai 17-6 in the second game.
