Cops: Homeless man caught with stolen cell phone
A man was caught with a stolen cell phone after he was cited for riding his bike without a light in downtown Riverhead early Wednesday morning, town police said.
Police stopped 20-year-old Michael Settle about 1:40 a.m. on West Main Street near Sweezy and Marcy Avenues, police said. During the arrest, officers found Mr. Settle — who is homeless — was carrying two iPhones, one of which was stolen, according to a police report.
Mr. Settle was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
