The three men accused of robbing a Riverhead pharmacy at gunpoint last week have been indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury, town court officials said.

Jhmil Dawson, 26 of Coram, his younger brother, Lavon Dawson,17, of Riverhead, and Ishawn Jackson, 16, of Calverton, were indicted by the grand jury on Monday, prosecutors said at the three mens’ town court appearances that afternoon.

Additional information about the charges the men were indicted on or their arraignment dates was not immediately available.

During a court appearance last Thursday, assistant district attorney Tisha Burrows said Lavon Dawson confessed to police that he held a handgun during Wednesday’s armed robbery, pointing it at an employee at the store to force them to the floor in an attempt to steal money and cigarettes.

Mr. Dawson also said he was involved in a January armed robbery at the same store, she said. The trio are now being investigated in connection with several pharmacy robberies throughout Suffolk County, prosecutors said.

Lavon Dawson had been charged with first-degree attempted robbery and first-degree robbery, both felonies. Jhmil Dawson and Ishawn Jackson also faced first-degree attempted robbery charges.

Mr. Dawson was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony.

Lavon Dawson and Mr. Jackson are being held at Suffolk County jail on $100,000 bail each.

Jhmil Dawson is being held without bail due to his prior criminal history, court officials said.
