No. 2 Top Sports Story: Maysonet NFL-bound

All the buzz around town in late April centered around Miguel Maysonet, the former star running back for Riverhead and Stony Brook University, as the NFL draft neared.

While Maysonet did not get drafted, it didn’t take long after the draft for him to sign as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since then, he’s bounced around a handful of teams, spending the majority of time with the Cleveland Browns during the preseason. Several teams have picked him up for their practice squads, including the New York Jets.

Most recently, he signed to the Washington Redskins’ practice squad.
