Cops: Calverton man arrested for making graffiti in Port Jeff

A 23-year-old Calverton man was arrested  Tuesday night for spray painting graffiti on a wall in Port Jefferson Village last month with the tag “Timothy of the Seven Seas,” according to a Suffolk County police press release.

Timothy Saunders covered a wall located on Surf Avenue near the entrance to the Setauket Yacht Club with graffiti sometime between Feb. 14 and Feb. 15, police said.

After the Sixth Precinct Gang Unit received a lead from a Port Jefferson Village Constable, police arrested Mr. Saunders in Coram and found he was in possession of oxycodone and hydrocodone, officials said.

Mr. Saunders was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fourth-degree making graffiti, officials said.
