State troopers: Riverhead man arrested for DWI in Riverside

A Riverhead man was arrested on a felony drunken driving charge after being stopped in Riverside for a traffic violation, according to state police.

On Friday, 56-year-old Kevin Smith was pulled over for traffic violations while driving south on Nugent Drive north of Center Drive in Riverside, according to a police report. He was arrested at the scene and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, police said.

Mr. Smith was arraigned in Southampton Town court and is due back in court on Tuesday, a court clerk said.
