Blotter reports from Riverhead and Southampton police

An Aquebogue woman was arrested for driving drunk in Riverhead on Aug. 23, according to a Riverhead police report.

Laura Kito, 46, was pulled over on Main Road about 4:55 p.m., according to police and a town court clerk. She was arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, police said.

She was arraigned in town justice court and released without bail, a court clerk said.

• State troopers caught a Riverhead man driving drunk on Ludlam Avenue on Aug. 21 in Riverside, state police said.

Douglas Jackson, 58, was pulled over in Flanders after he failed to stay in his lane, state troopers said. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI. He was released from police custody with a future date in Southampton Town court.

• Employees at a Riverhead vineyard reported to police on Aug. 21 that someone damaged a fuel line and stole more than $1,000 worth of batteries and equipment at their location on Sound Avenue, according to a Riverhead police report.

The alleged thief caused about $50 worth of damage to the copper fuel line of an outside fuel tank, as well as steal a “bird guard speaker,” its control box with a battery, as well as another battery from the vineyard, according to a police report.

The stolen electronics are worth about $1,150, police said.

• More than $1,500 in jewelry and cash were stolen from a Riverhead residence sometime late last month according to a police report.

Police said someone stole the items from a home on Pebble Beach Path sometime between Aug. 11 and Aug. 19.

No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.

• A retired Riverside resident reported to police on Aug. 24 that she received a letter at her bank indicating an unknown person had opened a deposit account using her Social Security number without her approval. The victim wished to document the activity with police.
